Politics. Religion. Masks. Being wrong. Being misunderstood. Finding the last bite of ice cream's been taken. Hardly a day goes by without defensiveness rearing its ugly head in our hearts...but why is that? Where does it come from? And what does Jesus have to do with it?

God's word speaks into this tension with powerful hope for a different way of living. Join us Sunday for the end of our Cross Culture series as we talk about Gentleness in a Culture of Defensiveness. But why wait until then for God to speak? Check out some of the Scriptures for this weekend before we gather, and let God's word begin speaking to you and prepping your heart (Proverbs 15:1; Ecclesiastes 10:4; Proverbs 25:15)!

Anxiety—it's in the air. A global pandemic, racial tension, record unemployment, social media debates, political divisiveness, family arguments, fear of a future filled with so many unknowns...

But anxiety isn't just swirling around us. It's also taken up residence in many of our hearts and minds, distorting our perspective of our circumstances, ourselves, and God...so what do we do?
