Won by One
“Second place is the first loser.”
Do you remember that slogan?
Or perhaps this one: “If you ain’t first, you’re last.” Deep wisdom there, right? Given the choice, we’d prefer to win rather than lose but if we’re honest, life often feels anything but victorious.
From time to time things might go our way, but for many of us, those moments when the stars align and everything falls in place are few and far between. For some this is complicated all the more because supposedly, when we became Christians, everything would finally start working out for us. I mean, didn’t Jesus say He’d come to give us the fullest life possible? So if Jesus came to give us life in all its fullness and life doesn’t feel very full…where’s the disconnect?
We’re kicking off a 7-week series called “Won by One,” where we’ll explore how God has indeed designed us for victory, and how our victory today is connected to the One who died so we might live.
So grab some friends and join us this Sunday at 11:40am as we grow and learn what it means to be won by the One.
