First Things First

It doesn’t take much for us to get off course, does it? A wrong turn here or there can cause us to get all turned around and without much warning; we don’t know where we are or even how we got there. Thankfully, things like maps and GPS fare pretty well at getting us through town, but what about through life? Is there a GPS for that? One of the things we’re taught when we’re overwhelmed by all that life throws our way is to keep firsts things first. In other words, to keep the main things the main thing; to stay focused on what’s most important even when a million other things feign importance and demand our full attention. While there may not be a purchasable GPS that can guide us through tough choices and decisions, God has gifted us with a series of ‘first things’, things that when given priority in our lives, have the power to guide us and keep us along our journey. If you’re feeling a little lost or unsettled, this series may be just what you need to rediscover the path God has for you.
