The Bible teaches that we are to love God with all our heart, soul, mind and strength. In other words, we’re to love God with everything we are and everything we’ve got. Let’s be honest: saying this is often way easier than doing this. Each of us have areas of our lives that are harder to love God with, than others. Don’t get me wrong – we want to. We desire to. But sometimes, as much as we desire, we still find it difficult to take that next step of faith. The problem is wherever trust is withheld, so is love. We can’t claim to love God with all that are while refusing to trust God with all that we have. For the next three weeks we’ll be exploring what it means to joyfully trust God. We’ll wrestle with what it means trust God with our treasures, talents and time and embrace the joy of giving, serving and trusting God for the restoration of the world.
